Cam Ward could soooooooooooooo be my new boyfriend. You know, if he wanted to.

I still like Canadians though. Even when they hang up on me multiple times (BILLY!).

Car Crashes into Carrboro Cafe. What?!!!
This place is two minutes from where I live and I used to go there to read papers sometimes. There must be something cosmically weird about Orange County right now, I mean, after the kids falling out of the window, the "terrorist attack" on campus and his subsequent bomb threat in Carrboro, UNC beating Duke (although that should just always happen) and now someone crashes into the Open Eye (at least they didn't hit the Speakeasy!!). Crazy.
Philly's good. Five American Alumni and 140 Fulbrighters from all over the world. I've been speaking so much German and watching the NCAA tourney. It's been a good Spring Break, once I finally finished that stupid exam.

Yesterday I finally finished that long, vile take-home exam that took every waking hour for three days and I could have probably still used more time. To be fair, everyone else has two more days, but I'm flying to Philadelphia in an hour for a Fulbright conference, so I had to turn it in early.
In other exciting news, I signed a contract on a condo yesterday and it'll be closing mid-April. I loved living in the co-op, but I think it's definitely time to move on.

Carolina Freshman Spoil Senior Night for Duke
We are so money.
And I was at Linda's on Franklin Street. The road was blocked off and people were partying in the street. Awesome. I love this town.

It's official. I hate Duke. Best losing game I've ever watched though. At Ham's of all places. I have to get Ceiling Fan tickets next year.

Funny enough, I guess I'm supposed to be here.

You're the University of North Carolina!
Well well well. You made your idea of building a city on the hill public before just about anyone else. And since you were stuck to one place for a seemingly endless period of time, you're not above ramming other people off of it. Though he's been retired for ages, you still buy Jordans to put on your feet. You have nothing against the duchess, but you simply cannot stand the duke.
Take the University Quiz at the Blue Pyramid.
And by the way, I'm going to be in Vegas from Wednesday evening to Sunday night.

My laptop officially hates me. First the internet stopped working, then the mouse. Now it won't let me log on to Windows at all. My mom has, as of today, gotten me a new one as a very early birthday present, but there is no guarantee that I'll get it before Jan. 25th. I'll be checking my email in the lab though.
I started my new lab rotation on Friday culturing Drosophila S2 cells. It's a change from working in the organism, almost like working with bacteria, but I like it. The lab atmosphere is really laid back. My PI is new here, so he doesn't have any students yet, only his postdoc, who is also his brother and another rotation student, who rotated with me in Mark's lab last semester. For being so small and so recently established, the lab is already completely equipped and self-sufficient, so I don't really anticipate any of the problems you would expect in new lab, especially since they've already generated lots of data. If my third rotation is not all that I hoped for, this is a real possibility.

Yay! I got my North Carolina driver's license! It's exciting to me at least. And it doesn't expire until my 30th birthday, which is thankfully not for a while. (This is akin to me being excited about having a Wachovia bank account and voting in Orange County. Ignore.)

My cousin, Brian flew me up in his two-seater to Lynchburg today for a family picnic at another cousin, Tommy's lakeside cabin. The flight was pretty amazing.
